Quality Engineer

Are you looking for a new opportunity in a thriving manufacturing environment?

We are looking for a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis in the Weymouth area to provide technical advice and support on quality, reliability, safety, and performance issues encountered during the production lifecycle.

 

Key Duties:

  • Facilitate the identification and implementation of robust Corrective Action / Preventative Action
  • Supporting internal audits as well as and 3rd party audits
  • Collating material compliance data, report writing where necessary
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Champion problem solving with use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA’s
  • Succeed in driving down rejects eliminating system errors and reduce overall cost of Quality
  • Monitor output, quality Yield & scrap rates.
  • Improving OTD performance
  • Maintain records of products and approved suppliers
  • Continually improve QMS processes

 

Key Experience:

  • HNC qualified beneficial or experience working in similar role (2 years’ experience)
  • 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • Certified Lead auditor beneficial
  • Supplier quality experience would be advantageous
  • Self-motivated individual
  • Must be comfortable standing up and leading discussions on quality and continuous Improvement matters
  • Right first time approach
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Six Sigma or similar qualification would be nice to have

Process Development Chemist

The ideal person will have knowledge of chemical related manufacturing processes, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and experience in chemical reactivity assessment. IN this role, you will be responsible for planning and carrying out laboratory work to support both R&D and plant manufacturing. Evaluating R&D plant data to identify areas requiring process improvements.

Key Duties:

  • Carry out scheduled sampling/analysis to determine and complete the necessary additions in support of the manufacturing process.
  • Collate and analyse data ensuring that any change in trends is reported to the manufacturing team leaders.
  • Support the transfer of parts and / or processes into mainstream production. Upscaling / industrialising parts and processes developed through the R&D processes.
  • Manage the sampling process of the effluent treatment plant ensuring compliance is maintained.
  • Focus on process optimisation to see where we can gain efficiencies within our current processes and infrastructure
  • Research and recommend new lab technologies that enable increased efficiencies.

 

Key Experience:

  • Knowledge of chemical related manufacturing processes • Experience in FMEA and chemical reactivity assessment.
  • Material Science knowledge desirable but not essential • In depth knowledge of Lab, SHE/ Quality systems, and compliance
  • Knowledge of Photo Chemical Machining process technology and / or photolithographic processes desirable but not essential
  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Project work experience and proven record of solving problems
  • Excellent data interrogation and presentation skills.
  • Proven skills in delivering improvements using Lean / Six Sigma methods
