RFI screening solution specialist, Tecan is offering the production and despatch of prototype and custom screening cans in just three days with no premium charge to its standard service price.

The offer is based on the supply of formed and spot-welded cans and is based on a limit of three sheets of base material blanks with a maximum size of 400mm x 300mm. Base materials available include brass, copper and nickel silver (other materials may be available on request). Additional plating is also available on request and can be provided in a further 24 hours.

If the cans produced in the offer period subsequently go into a production run, they will benefit from a 10% discount and free tooling.

A dedicated fast-response team offers cost-effective bespoke screening solutions. Typically, screening cans can be produced from a selection of options such as fences, dividing walls, full enclosures, spring-finger lids, simple fold lids, dimple-lock lids and screening meshes.

Using photo-chemical machining (PCM), Tecan’s screening cans are generated by etching the outline from a sheet of metal. This simple and cost effective process offers many advantages over other production methods, such as: incorporation of semi-etched fold lines, the inclusion of tabs and slots, etched logos, part numbers or similar details and the fact that no additional stress is induced to the base material - ensuring a good contact with solder for SM assembly.

The three-day offer is initially planned to cover the three-month inclusive period of May, June and July 2007. The service is subject to material availability, one design per sheet, one order per customer, new parts only and sight / suitability of submitted CAD files.
