NEW LOW-PROFILE SCREENING CANS IN STANDARD RANGE

Maintaining its reputation for the provision of cost-effective EMI/RFI technology, Dorset based Tecan Components has launched a new range of standard size RFI screening cans – with low profiles for the latest market needs. To make the parts more widely available off-the-shelf, the company has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Scunthorpe based Hitek.
“As a positive and forward thinking company we are very pleased to have established this link with Tecan,” said Hitek general manager, John Terry. “As EMC and microwave system specialists, we understand only too well the need for quick turnround and cost-effective solutions. This is an important initiative for us, enhancing our ability to supply optimised quality screening solutions – we see this low-profile ex-stock standard range as ideal for today’s ever-smaller market needs.”
Readily available and competitively-priced in low volumes, the new range offers five can types - four-sided with spring-fingered lid, four-sided with plain folded lid, five-sides with corner flaps or butted corners, and four-sided version with top and bottom spring-fingered lids. The parts are supplied assembled, with the exception of the five-sided version with butted corners, which is supplied ‘extremely cost-effectively’ as a flat sheet, with half-etched bend lines for easy forming. With a fixed pitch of 20mm, the options provide engineers with fast access to PCB shielding for a wide range of prototype, development and production requirements.
Sizes available, in mm, are 20 x 20 x 10, 20 x 30 x 10 (four-sided/spring lid only), 30 x 30 x 10, 50 x 25 x 10, 50 x 50 x 10, 75 x 50 x 15, 75 x 75 x 15, 100 x 50 x 15, and 125 x 75 x 25. The can have tin-plate copper bodies and tin-plate brass lids.
