SHIELDING CANS FOR ALL NEEDS - TECAN CAN

Dorset based Tecan now offers a full range of shielding cans covering the whole end-user spectrum, bringing to the market high-quality cost-effective solutions - from development and prototype components to mid- and high-volume cans. So comprehensive is the can provision capability, the company believes it can cater for virtually any EMI, RFI or EMC screening need.
At the development end of the scale a ‘3D Service’ has been introduced - this is a design/develop/draw facility for the provision of sample cans. The company also offers a ‘premium service’ for samples and pre-production quantities - this fast-track facility delivers in five or ten days. Other development products, such as standard cans and ‘Tecpac’ matrix sheets, allow engineers to quickly and cost-effectively ascertain application specific needs by fabricating shielding as necessary. This can be done readily on the workbench, or at an EMC test house for example - simplifying, speeding and lowering the cost of development work.
Beyond this, the company has a range of well-established and proven manufacturing systems, such as photo-chemical machining (PCM) and punch/press, to provide cans for the most demanding medium and high-volume production needs. Cost-effective bespoke product production is the norm, says Tecan and typical cans may include an open-ended selection of options such as fences, dividing walls, five-sided enclosures, labrynths, full enclosures, spring-finger lids, simple fold lids, folding spring lids and screening meshes. Resultant fabrications are compatible with all standard production requirements, including surface-mount, and are suitable for pick and place assembly.
Separate development matrix sheets are available with or without holes and in the form of side walls strips - it is also possible to have all on a single sheet - using these, virtually any prototype shape can be fabricated on the spot.
